Blocking the View

This impressive view of a lake in a bowl-like depression was captured by a female hiker, who unfortunately chose to include herself in the photo, blocking some gorgeous surrounding landscape. It serves as a reminder that while some sights are meant to be seen and shared, others should remain private.

But who can blame her? In the age of social media, people enjoy sharing everything they do with their online friends. Appearing in the snap is the only way to prove they were truly there. And yes, we know some male admirers don't mind having the camper in the photo.

Keep Your Eyes on the Mountains, Please!

The title of this photo is undoubtedly good advice, and it speaks for itself. The scenery in the photo isn't particularly impressive, with the mountain being a pile of scattered rubble and only a small portion of solid rock on top. Nevertheless, people (and men in particular) should make an effort to focus on the background alone.

We know it can be hard because there are some pretty distracting things happening in the foreground. But camping should always be about the great outdoors and never about what campers are (and are not) wearing. Let's skip to the next one quickly, please!

Sleeping Beauty

Some people are content with a simple photograph of the campsite and the majestic mountain in the background. Others, however, can't resist the urge to show off their derrieres. Yes, the view with the lenticular clouds cascading over the mountain is truly breathtaking. But why block the view of the tent?

In the end, we guess this photo captures the best of both worlds: not only the beauty of nature but also the beauty of the human body. It's like a scene from a fairytale, except camping gear is heavily involved. On another note, how isn't this woman super cold?

Upside Down

This woman deserves an A for effort for combining a classic "look at me" shot with an interesting perspective of the trees to get the most unique camping shot for her Instagram. She certainly went a long way to capture this singular photo.

Nevertheless, it's impossible not to admire her talent, as not everybody is capable of pulling off such a demanding pose. Keeping fit, exploring the woods, having fun, and sharing good moments with online friends? We don't think there is anything wrong with that. We only hope that this fun young camper got many likes on her post.

Inspired by Monty Python?

Singing "Lumberjack Song" is a great way to stay positive, as made famous by Michael Palin and the rest of the Monty Python crew. But if you're looking for a different way to keep it up, why not try something like having a glass of bourbon and picking up an axe?

Of course, we don't recommend actually using an axe, but the idea of swinging it around can be strangely therapeutic. People shouldn't just listen to their favorite songs—they should live them. The camper in the picture sure knows what we're talking about and is going full "Lumberjack Song" mode.

Another View-Blocker

It's time to show off some curves with a cheeky shot of the backside. Surrounding her is a stunning mountainous landscape. We can't help but question why she's wearing leg warmers even though her torso is left exposed to the cold. Nonetheless, we're not going to complain!

We've had enough of view-blockers for the day, but we feel like this is still not the end of it. What's it with beautiful women and Instagram photos of stunning landscapes? We guess beauty and the outdoors do go hand-in-hand, and we're sure this girl's Instagram fans will not complain about her outfit.

Lost in the Woods?

She's visibly determined to continue her journey, even though she may not know how far she has to go or the challenges ahead. Despite her fatigue, she remains committed to the trek, and we can't help but admire her perseverance. But was she surprised by a cute animal? Or is she just lost?

According to the Sierra Club website, a staggering 600,000 people get lost in the United States every year, and many do while exploring the great outdoors. Solid Internet connection doesn't come often in the woods, so remember to pack an old-school compass and snub the GPS.

What Meat Heaven Looks Like

The aroma of burning wood, the sound of sizzling steaks, and the sight of the evening sun setting: all of these things combine to create a truly unforgettable experience when one's out on a hike. Acquiring the perfect sear on a steak is an art form, but unfortunately, these steaks may have been cooked for too long.

The woman in the photo sure disagrees, though, considering she's boasting the biggest of smiles. For all non-vegans out there, eating some delicious fire-cooked meat in the woods is as close to being in heaven as it gets. Are you getting hungry, or is it just us?

A Mountain Climber's Reward

There is no feeling quite like reaching the summit of a mountain, standing atop it, and admiring the breathtaking view of the lush forest below and the rocky terrain beyond. This mountain climber appears to have found the perfect spot to soak in the stunning landscape behind her.

First invented in 2005 by a Canadian man named Wayne Fromm, the selfie stick became a best-selling sensation many years later. Now, it's a part of many people's lives and, by the looks of it, essential mountain-climbing gear! What good does a great view do if one can't record it for posterity?

Are We Still Talking About Camping?

In an age that is increasingly focused on physical appearance, it's not uncommon to find people looking to take advantage of the opportunity to post pictures on social media while camping. Unfortunately, this often leads to an abundance of gratuitous cleavage shots, which are not necessarily the most tasteful or appropriate. Nevertheless, they are accepted by many in today's society.

Everybody is entitled to do whatever they want as long as they don't hurt others. This photo of a beautiful woman has almost nothing to do with camping, but at least she's not blocking the view of anything worth seeing.

The Best Thing About Camping?

Yes, people can achieve a similar result to cooking over a wood fire in the oven at their homes, but it's not quite the same. The experience of cooking over a wood fire is more stimulating and gratifying. Adding mushrooms and peppers to the onion makes things better—and more delicious!

Maybe what makes camping food so tasty is the fact that we get to reconnect with our primeval nature by living a little bit more like our oldest ancestors. The great outdoors may sometimes feel unnatural and scary to us, but they were once the only home the human species had.

100% Chill

This pup is clearly enjoying his camping experience! He may be too big for the chair he's in, but that's not stopping him from taking a well-deserved break. It looks like he's not going anywhere anytime soon, so his human companions will just have to relax and wait until he's ready to move.

One thing is for sure, though: it's impossible to deny that this chill dog is setting a good example. Camping is about exploring, sure, but it's also the perfect opportunity for resting and forgetting about stressful life in the city. This pup knows exactly what he's doing.

Ewok Dog

This cute little creature is practically an Ewok, the cuddly teddy bear-like species featured in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi." Ewoks were a formidable force on the forest moon of Endor, where they fought against the stormtroopers and helped the Rebels defeat the Empire. This particular Ewok is just waiting for a nice morning walk: what a cutie!

Regarding whether it's good to take a dog camping or not, sources can't agree. Some claim it's great for dogs because they love the outdoors, while others believe it can be a source of stress for the dog. We guess it all depends on the dog.

Mock the Hammock

If you want quality, you have to be willing to pay for it. Writing, trash bags, and hammocks are all examples of this. If you opt for the cheapest option when it comes to a hammock, you won't get much use out of it before it needs to be replaced.

To avoid getting mocked by falling out of a hammock, campers are advised to find a high-quality product and look for some decent trees to attach it to. Accidents should be prevented at all times, but especially when one's stranded in the woods, many miles away from the nearest hospital.

A Caveman's Rebirth

If you've had a few drinks and think jumping in a fire seems like a good idea, you should reconsider. It might not seem like a big deal if you're in a country with state-run health care that keeps medical costs low, but if you get burned and have to pay thousands of dollars for a treatment, you'll regret it.

On the bright side, there are some sacrifices one must make to produce great art, and that's exactly what this camping photo is. Everything from the light, the fire, and the man's facial expression to the ax prop is on point.

Official Camping Food

No campfire is complete without some S'mores! The sweet treat was originally called graham cracker sandwiches, but the name quickly changed to "some more" and eventually "s'more" because they are just too delicious and hard to resist. While some may not be a fan of the iconic snack, it is an essential part of the traditional American camping experience.

The dark side of S'mores, unfortunately, is that they're as unhealthy as they are delicious. According to nutritionist Maria Rodriguez, they make for a nasty combo of sugar, carbs, and processed sugars. A single S'more has around 100 calories, which is a lot.

Too Much Honey?

We sympathize with this guy. He has had a long and difficult day, and he is taking a much-needed rest. He's too exhausted to even be bothered by the intrusive photographer. The photographer may believe they have some more food to offer in exchange for taking the photo.

Speaking of food, we bet this is what happens to bears when they eat more honey than they should. In the end, they're just like humans: they do too much of a good thing and end up feeling the consequences in the end. Have you learned the lesson, bear? Or are you going to do it all again tomorrow?

Postcards From Canada

If you want to avoid a tangle with any animal in North America, it's a moose. Bears look intimidating, but they're nothing compared to the speed and agility of a moose. If a moose gets the idea to mess with you, you'll be in for a tough day. This one sure knows where to find the best snacks.

Considering there are up to one million mooses in Canada, and that they can be found in virtually all Canadian territories, leaving food unattended while camping can be especially dangerous in the land of the maple syrup. Does Canadian niceness apply to moose as well?

Happiness… Is a Warm Coffee!

At midday during your explorations, you take a break to ignite the stove or start a small fire. As the water heats, you open a can of beans, assemble the French press, and brew a delicious cup of coffee. You think: "Life is good," and guess what? Even the coffee agrees with you!

This picture reminded us of the classic Beatles song "Happiness Is a Warm Gun," featured in the iconic "White Album." Because we're not big fans of guns, we're thinking of changing the lyrics to "Happiness Is a Warm Coffee." We're pretty sure the late John Lennon wouldn't mind it!

Breakfast Included

Start the day off with a delicious breakfast by the pool. The smoky scent of bacon cooking on the grill and the aroma of eggs frying in pork fat will awaken your senses. Enjoy your meal with coffee or tea for the perfect morning. It sounds like being in a five-star hotel, doesn't it?

When people go camping, breakfast is always included. It's not served to them by hotel employees, but that's part of what makes it taste even better. This picture makes us feel hungry for some eggs and bacon but, most importantly, makes us want to drop everything and go camping tomorrow.

The Real Social Distancing

Making a good cup of coffee while camping can be difficult, but there is a way to do it. These guys found a way to use their face masks to make a decent cup of joe. All they needed to do was boil some water, pour it onto a filter made from the mask, and enjoy their camping-made coffee.

But what about their safety, you wonder? Well, we guess one of the perks of being isolated in the woods is that face masks are not as necessary. When the need for social distancing becomes a reality, maybe people should just go camping!

Brace Yourselves; Winter Has Arrived!

This experienced camper is enjoying the present, and it's obvious that he knows what he's doing when it comes to camping in the snow. He has built up a layer of snow around the tent, which acts as insulation and provides surprising warmth. He's no stranger to this kind of outdoor experience.

But what strikes us the most isn't his camping know-how. It's how happy he is to be surrounded by the snow. It goes to show that, when one looks at life in a positive manner, no challenge is too overwhelming. Optimism may well be the secret to living a happy life.

As Cute As Camping Gets

This cheerful individual is a pleasure to be around, though we are left to ponder how he accomplished setting up the tent pegs. The miniature truck, the moss, and the small stockpile of teeny-tiny twigs for the campfire all come together to create the perfect campsite. All that's left to do is bring in some tasty snacks.

More than utterly cute, hedgehogs are fascinating creatures. They're nocturnal, big sleepers who hibernate, depend on their spines for defense, and—curiously enough—lactose intolerant. They're called hedgehogs because they root through hedges in search of food. They love eating insects, worms, and even small snakes!

Bears Looking For a Bed

Little Baloo may look ready to take a nap in one of the hammocks, but he's probably too heavy to fit in one. Nevertheless, he's still adorable. Until his momma starts getting involved! Stumbling upon bears is by far one of the most dangerous things that can happen to campers.

On the other hand, there are only an estimated 30,000 brown bears in the United States, so we guess it's kind of lucky when campers get to see one. According to AZ Animals, the American state with the most bears is, unsurprisingly, the wild and ice-cold state of Alaska.

The Thirst Games

It's no secret that a lot of people enjoy drinking games. While some of these games are simple and typically done to get people drunker than they should, others are incredibly complicated. These often require intricate contraptions to complete the task, as well as a lot of wasted beer.

It's safe to say that some drinking games are definitely more complex than others. Take these two campers, for example. Their drinking game even involves a homemade puppet-inspired wood contraption! We have all heard about "The Hunger Games," but when is Hollywood finally going to make a movie about "The Thirst Games?"

Mommy, When Are We Going Back Home?

It looks like this furry friend is ready for a weekend of camping! He's got a mini campfire in front of him and a comfy bed beside it. We can't help but wonder how many photos it took to get him to pose like this, as cats can be pretty unpredictable! But one thing is certain: Caturday is the perfect time to take a camping trip, and cats can join in on the fun too!

This particular kitty, however, looks like he's had enough adventures for the week and is ready to go back home. City cats, am I right?

Looking Like a Pro Camper Already

This little gentleman appears to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle lounging in his chair. He might be considering taking a long, deep nap, grabbing his favorite snack, or even trying to pass a large, uncomfortable bowel movement. Of course, with babies, it could be all three!

There's something about his facial expression, however, that seems to show that he's exceptionally comfortable in the great outdoors. It's hard to know what a baby will be like when he becomes an adult, but this little chap definitely has a future in camping. Who needs a pacifier when the woods are just as calming?

Adam & Eve

There's a wide range of cookware suitable for families and some more suited for adults. Still, it's an excellent opportunity to show how fire can transform sausages. Everyone should experience this at least once. However, marshmallows are beyond redemption, and no amount of convincing can make us feel otherwise!

Yes, this is not the most appropriate cookware for children at all, but all campers need to laugh now and then. Sitting in the comfort and privacy of the woods, these campers aren't hurting anyone with their shocking cooking equipment. And to be fair, it's the food that makes it offensive.

A Big Camping No-No

Given the dangerous combination of a TV, electric cable, and a flammable gas can, it is not a wise idea to be playing a fire video so close to the gas can. Furthermore, considering the lush and verdant area, the rain will likely come soon, making the situation even more hazardous. We advise that this setup is not a safe one.

More importantly, this is a capital sin of camping. Watching TV in the woods is as counterproductive as it gets. This young man was forced by his family to go camping and decided to rebel by watching the news.

For Adults Only

Given the amount of blood needed to sustain a 3-foot-tall creature, it would be impossible to create one out of thin air. Furthermore, many women would be scared by such a creature, and they would be unable to keep the tent up. But let us stop with the confusing talk and get straight to the point.

This is just a standard camping tent; nothing funny about it. It has a pillar in the middle that provides stability, allowing it to stay up while people sleep comfortably inside. Whoever thinks differently is considering things that have nothing to do with camping.

Ostrich Vibes

These miniature demonstration models look very impressive; however, they are too small to fit a part of anyone's body comfortably. Nevertheless, they could be used as a fun rain hat, keeping one's head dry even if they don't look particularly fashionable. They got to be on sale for a reason, after all.

It's an excellent tent for ostriches, though, as they supposedly feel safe when their heads are hidden away, even if the rest of their bodies are not. For the human species, however, miniature tens simply don't offer the minimum required level of protection. We're surely not losing our heads over this product!

Out-of-Nowhere Badger

No matter where people are, they will still spot a critter or two looking longingly at their food. From the tiniest of cats to the mightiest of honey badgers, animals all have one thing in common: they want a taste of tasty, delicious human food. So, to avoid a confrontation, don't mess with the honey badger, because he knows what he wants!

It is imperative to look out for this sneaky creature at nighttime because they are nocturnal. Not the most elegant of all animals, honey badgers reportedly eat everything and smell bad sometimes, as they are closely related to skunks.

A Deer in the Dark

A lot of people often overlook the fact that deer are both agile and surprisingly heavy. When these animals lose their fear of humans, they can cause severe damage; this particular deer has spied an opportunity and seized it—likely to the detriment of any nearby pastries. Unfortunately, we cannot exactly say this was a victimless crime.

While enjoying the great outdoors, the man in the picture forgot one of the unspoken camping rules: don't get distracted when it's pitch-black dark outside. Please don't mistake the light in his head for an allegorical lightbulb, because this was not a good idea!

Glory Hole Recreation Area—Really?

Have you ever visited New Melones in California? It's a beautiful place, with plenty of waterfronts to explore. You can go boating, fishing, and camping, and there's even a Glory Hole Recreation Area. But you may be wondering why California made New Melones a recreational destination.

Well, the answer is simple: California is a great place for outdoor recreation, and New Melones offers a unique experience that can't be found anywhere else. We only wish they would have chosen a different name for the site, as the words "Glory Hole" often remind people of something that has nothing to do with camping.

Warm Food Comes at a Cost

We can only imagine the joy these campers felt when they sat down to enjoy their evening meal. Until, of course, they destroyed their table. The smell of sizzling melting plastic was enough to almost put us off our dinner, and we were not even close to this burned plastic table.

When camping, the things most people take for granted (such as enjoying a nice, warm meal) can come at a cost. This is why wood tables make for the ideal camping solution and are a feature of many camping parks. This one is another unfortunate example of plastic waste.

Now That's a Great Rack!

The saying goes that there is no bad weather, only conditions you haven't prepared for properly. The guys in question seem well aware of this, as they have all the tools necessary to make sure they stay prepared for whatever the weather throws their way. This is great news, as it means they can stay warm no matter where their journey takes them.

We've seen plenty of camping photos featuring gorgeous women, but this is by far the most attractive rack to make the list—from a camper's perspective, of course. That's what the home of a real camper looks like!

The Flying Tent

A tent is essentially a big piece of cloth that is vulnerable to the wind. People often underestimate how strong the wind can be until they try to put up the tent, and it starts blowing away. It looks like these people are about to get a taste of just how gusty it can be!

To avoid flying away accidentally, campers should avoid setting their tents in very windy places. In the United States, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Iowa are listed by the Washington Post as the windiest states. The least windy are Mississippi, Florida, and Kentucky.

True Crime: Camping

Don't make the same mistake as this unfortunate golfer did on one bleak 2010 afternoon: playing golf while under the influence of alcohol. The result was a painful trip to the emergency room and a lasting photo that he won't soon forget. Cacti and other prickly plants should be respected and avoided at all costs.

When the authorities arrived at the site, it was already too late to save the poor golfer from his demise. Let it be a lesson to campers, too, as they should never drink too much or set up their tents too close to a bunch of cacti.

When the House Breaks

Life on the road can be great, but it can quickly become a struggle when vehicles break down in the worst possible place. These guys must look at what might be wrong, from an oil leak to a broken transmission. With the weight of the vehicle, it's certainly no easy task. We feel for them.

Having a home that moves is great nine out of ten times, but it can be deeply annoying when the problems start. Nonetheless, multiple sources state that there are anywhere between 35 million and 40 million nomads today, many of which work as online freelancers—the famous "digital nomads."

Snail Lifestyle

It is important to take the necessary precautions for camping. Tents, in particular, can be a hazard, as they're made of lightweight material that can easily be blown away. To avoid finding a tent in an inconvenient place, make sure to secure it in place with pegs.

For transporting tents, a good idea is to… Keep them closed inside their bags. This woman is surely an inexperienced camper and is putting herself through a lot with no need. Is this what snails feel like, carrying their "homes" on their back everywhere all the time? We feel for the poor chaps.

Some Privacy, Please!

Do bears go to the toilet? Yes, this photograph appears to answer the age-old question of whether bears actually poop in the woods. The image proves that yes, they do indeed do so. Whether the photographer saw an opportunity to prove this or has other things in mind is unknown, but either way, the age-old question has been answered.

The actual question, however, is not if bears poop in the woods—naturally, they do. It's whether they can or cannot do it in privacy! Once again, this picture is enlightening: with so many campers (and their cameras) around, bear privacy is in danger.

Cradled in the Great Outdoors

Even the littlest adventurers can have a great time out on a hike and camping trip! With a cozy travel cot, parents can provide a comfortable place for babies to rest during their explorations. Plus, with a stunning view like this, it's easy to see why camping is such an enjoyable experience. It's only important to make sure babies don't venture too close to the rocks!

We don't know if this baby will remember such a special moment in the future, but this picture will surely inspire him to become a camper when he grows up. What a fantastic view!

Camping Is About Improvising

We've all been there: packing for a trip, making sure we don't forget anything important, only to find out we've left something important behind. While it's not the best idea to use brute force to solve the problem (no one likes metal shards in their food!), we have to admit that it's an innovative solution to forgetting the can opener.

A good way to avoid the need for improvising is to make a thorough list of camping items before the trip and check if everything's inside the car before leaving for the great outdoors. After all, the nearest store is usually many miles away from the woods.

Camping Gymnastics

Putting up a tent can be pretty challenging, and it often looks like people don't know what they are doing. It can be even worse if they make a mistake, like when they put one of the long, thin poles in the wrong hole. It appears that's what happened here.

On the other hand, setting up tents incorrectly is a great gymnastics exercise. Maybe this woman is an experienced camper after all, and she's just practicing for her next gymnastics competition. At the very least, that's a perfect excuse for justifying being in such an embarrassing situation. "Olympics, here I come!"
