The A-lister Who Decided to Take Control

The former Hollywood A-lister Cameron Diaz continues to be a relevant celebrity, and she was last seen promoting her new wine on social media in 2022. But why has she decided to quit acting when she was one of the best-paid actresses in the world? She addressed the mystery in an interview with Kevin Hart and revealed it was all about taking control.

She told Hart that she hated "every aspect" of her life and that she felt like she needed to be the sole manager of her career as she approached 40. She never regretted the decision and once claimed to feel "whole."

"Blade" Paid His Taxes the Hard Way

The American actor Wesley Snipes has returned to the spotlight and is one of the stars featured in the 2022 comedy "Back on the Strip," also starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. But the most observant movie buffs may have noticed that this former '90s icon spent over three years without working in a major production. Why?

Sadly, Snipes got a little bit too creative with his taxes and ended up being sentenced to three years in prison for willful failure to file his federal income tax returns. The "Blade" superstar reported to prison in 2010 and wasn't released up until the summer of 2013.

The Comedian Who Walked Away From $50 Million

Following the release of his late 2021 special "The Closer," the American stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle has been heavily criticized by the trans community. But even if you don't agree if everything Chappelle says, you have to admit the man has character. After all, he decided to walk away from $50 million at the height of his TV fame.

Chappelle refused a $50-milion check to continue to work on the sketch show "Chappelle's Show" for feeling like his comedy was being misunderstood and reinforcing the same racial stereotypes he so desperately wanted to fight against. Years later, he made $60 million by signing a three-stand-up-specials deal with Netflix.

Jack Nicholson's Mysterious Disappearance

Jack Nicholson used to be one of the world's best actors. From "Chinatown" to "The Departed," not to mention the brilliant "The Shining," he wowed audiences with his every performance. But then, in 2010, he decided to disappear all of a sudden shortly after appearing in the comedy "How Do You Know."

The mystery was only solved when a source close to Nicholson revealed that memory loss was the reason behind his decision to quit. No longer able to remember his lines and more reclusive than ever, he was last seen attending an NBA game of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021.

The Unexplained Hiatus of a Comedy Favorite

Fans of Jonah Hill can be relieved: featured in 2022's comedy "You People," he was at his comedic best in late 2021's "Don't Look Up." But this "Superbad" comedy favorite got us all worried for a while. His career was going down the drain following his acclaimed performance in "The Wolf of Wall Street," and nobody seemed to know why.

According to Looper, Hill's few tough years were motivated by both personal and professional reasons. He was emotionally devastated by the precocious passing of his brother Jordan Feldstein, called off his engagement to Gianna Santos, and was slammed by the critics for his performance in 2019's "The Beach Bum."

Rick Moranis' Praisable Hollywood Disappearance

In 2022, the Canadian-born actor Rick Moranis mourned the passing of one of his "Ghostbusters" collaborators, director Ivan Reitman. But decades before, in 1991, the "Parenthood" star was forced to deal with an even more painful tragedy when his wife Ann Belsky passed away at the age of 35.

Left alone with two children, Moranis decided to do the right thing. Even though he was at the height of his Hollywood career and getting plenty of film requests, he decided to snub them all to be there for his family. He later returned to show business but worked mostly as a voice actor.

From "Titanic" to Making Ends Meet. What Happened?

The American actor Billy Zane went from being in "Titanic," one of the biggest movies of all time, to virtually disappearing from Hollywood. In 2017, Looper reported his low activity in the movie industry was explained by his stage work, but other sources claimed that Zane may have simply lost the will to work as an actor...

In 2019, Zane told Mirror that he was only taking new acting jobs to make ends meet and pay for his ex-wife's maintenance. While enthusiasm is essential to succeed as an actor, Zane has been doing relatively fine now, and is featured in the 2022 productions "Iké Boys" and "Food Fight."

Jennifer Love Hewitt's Post-Cancellation Struggle

Jennifer Love Hewitt is still active as an actress, and was featured in a 2022 episode of "9-1-1." But this former "Party of Five" star spent three years away from the screen between 2015 and 2018 and is far from being the Hollywood favorite she used to be in the '90s. While birthing her first child in 2013 helped to drive her focus away from show business, Hewitt's disappearance may also be related to a surprising cancellation.

In 2010, Hewitt's show "Ghost Whisperer" was canceled and the Waco, Texas native confessed that the news came as a "total shock" to her. Her career hasn't been the same ever since.

Blacklisted Star Gets Justice After Two Decades

The disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was accused of harassment roughly two decades before starting to serve a 23-year sentence in 2021. The bold actress behind it was Mira Sorvino, who went from starring in '90s movies such as Woody Allen's "Mighty Aphrodite" to virtually disappearing from Hollywood.

It turns out Sorvino was reportedly blacklisted after going against Weinstein, who was one of Hollywood's most influential personalities at the time. She has since managed to make a more-than-fair comeback; she appeared in the 2021 season of "American Crime Story" and is featured in the 2022 series "Shining Vale."

The Role That Almost Broke Jesse Eisenberg's Career

Jesse Eisenberg hit the big time in 2010, getting widespread praise for his brilliant portrayal of 'Mark Zuckerberg' in "The Social Network." But years after the iconic role, he decided to play yet another famous billionaire: the supervillain 'Lex Luthor' in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Last seen in 2021's "Zach Snyder's Justice League," Eisenberg's portrayal of 'Lex Luthor' wasn't a big hit among comic book fans. He was considered to be too young for the role and was accused of being too playful. But to be fair, Eisenberg's failure to deliver a convincing 'Luthor' has more to do with poor casting than poor acting.

Patricia Arquette Peaked at the 2014 Oscars

When the former "True Romance" actress Patricia Arquette landed an Oscar for her work in "Boyhood," we all expected her to go back to being a Hollywood A-lister. But the "Medium" star ended up returning to the small screen, proving to be unable to capitalize on her big 2014 Oscar win.

More than taking her career to the next level, Arquette's Oscar represented the peak of her career. Saying that it's all been downhill since then wouldn't be fair, though, since Arquette continued to appear in her usual TV roles, making it to "CSI: Cyber," "The Act," and the 2022 sci-fi series "Severance."

Is Ashley Judd's Bad Luck Finally Over?

Seen in movies such as "Double Jeopardy," "Heat," and "Kiss the Girls," Ashley Judd was a major Hollywood superstar in the '90s. But the California native was blacklisted in the early '2000s by none other than the infamous Harvey Weinstein. When Judd reportedly declined Weinstein's advances, he smeared her reputation by telling people—including "The Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson—that she was a nightmare to work with.

When Weinstein's true nature was made public, Judd was more than ready to make her big return, but her career was put on hold once again when she shattered her leg in a 2021 Congo accident.

Alyson Hannigan's Fall From Grace

Initially popularized by her "American Pie" appearances, Alyson Hannigan is best known for her portrayal of 'Lily Aldrin' in the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." She made it to over 200 episodes of the show, but she's hardly made an impression since the series 2014 finale. But why?

Sadly, Hannigan didn't choose her roles too wisely after leaving "How I Met Your Mother," making it mostly to TV movies and under-the-radar indie flicks. As of 2022, she works as a voice actress in the animated series "Fancy Nancy," which is miles away from her "American Pie" heyday.

The Two Movies That Halted This Hollywood Hunk's Career

Remember "She's All That" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer?" The two late '90s hits both featured Freddie Prinze Jr., arguably one of the most-wanted young Hollywood hunks at the time. Now starring in the series "Robot Chicken" and the understated 2022 comedy "Christmas with you," Prinze Jr. never quite managed to meet his potential.

According to Looper, the "end" of Prinze Jr.'s Hollywood career is partly explained by his decision to portray 'Fred' in the 2002 movie "Scooby-Doo" and its 2004 sequel. With a horrid 5.2 rating on IMDb, "Scooby-Doo" was deemed to be a failure and messed up Prinze Jr.'s career for good.

From Oscar Winner to Novelist

When actors disappear from Hollywood, we tend to assume they were forced to do so. Not Gene Hackman, though. The brilliant award-winning performer appeared in over 100 productions before deciding to step away in 2006. The former "The French Connection" idol did so to follow his dream of becoming a novelist.

Hackman's second career isn't as well-known as his first, but he's still a prolific (and published) writer. His list of publications includes 2011's "Payback at Morning Peak: A Novel of the American West" and "Pursuit," a 2013 police novel.

The Child Actor Who Just Wanted an Education

While most kids stranded in school dream of becoming movie stars, Jonathan Taylor Thomas was the other way around. Popularized by his '90s appearances in productions such as "Home Improvement," "Tom and Huck," and "The Lion King," (yes, he portrayed 'Young Simba!'), Thomas decided to quit show business in the mid-'2000s to pursue an education.

He's since been featured in just one show, "Last Man Standing," and was seen for the first time in eight years in 2021. He was snapped by the paparazzi while casually walking his dogs in Hollywood.

Phoebe Cates Left Show-Biz Way Too Soon. But Why?

The unforgettable American actress Phoebe Cates appeared in a series of classic '80s flicks when she was but a teenager. She rose to stardom thanks to "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Private School," or "Gremlins." But not long after her "Drop Dead Fred" role in the early '90s, she kissed goodbye to a promising acting career to focus on raising a family.

Cates' decision worked wonders, and she's been happily married to fellow actor Kevin Kline since 1989! She made but two short returns to acting, appearing in 2001's "The Anniversary Party" and the "Lego Dimensions" videogame. As of 2022, she reportedly works as a Manhattan clothing boutique owner.

King Joffrey's Strange Disappearance

The young Irish actor Jack Gleeson was incredibly good in the role of 'King Joffrey,' arguably one of the most despicable characters in the hit series "Game of Thrones." But after leaving the show in 2014, he shocked his fans by announcing that he viewed acting as a hobby, not a full-time job, and wanted to pursue an education.

Gleeson studied philosophy and theology and reportedly started a theater company called Collapsing Horse. In 2021, fans of Gleeson were given a glimpse of hope when the Cork, Ireland native made a short but promising acting comeback with the comedy flick "Rebecca's Boyfriend."

Jonathan Bennett Peaked at the Very Beginning

The American actor Jonathan Bennett became famous in 2004 when he appeared in the now-classic Lindsay Lohan comedy "Mean Girls." Sadly, though, his breakthrough movie also happened to be the peak of his acting career... Bennett never quite landed a role nearly as important and continued to capitalize on his "Mean Girls" appearance for years—to the point of publishing a cooking book inspired by the movie.

But don't worry: Bennett has since become a TV personality and excelled at it, making it most recently to a 2022 episode of "Ok! TV." He's also a popular LGBTQ personality on social media.

This Former Movie Star Wasn't a Big Fan of the Industry

Do you still remember the American actress Leelee Sobieski? She appeared in "Never Been Kissed," starred in "Joy Ride," and shared the set of "88 Minutes" with Al Pacino. But despite her success, she was never a big fan of the Hollywood industry and decided to kiss goodbye to the spotlight to focus on raising a family.

Married to a fashion designer, Sobieski is now the mother of two children and is extremely private. She hasn't been in the news since 2018, the year she made a freaky appearance in a Turkish movie and also debuted her first gallery show, featuring her original paintings.

From "Hairspray" to a Cosmetology License

Featured in a 2021 "Life Unfiltered" episode on bullying and body shaming, the former "Hairspray" protagonist Nikki Blonsky struggled to make it in show business. Her debut was a major musical blockbuster also featuring the likes of John Travolta and Zac Efron, but it proved to be too much for this now-forgotten New York native...

In 2010, Blonsky got a second chance when she was cast as the star of the TV series "Huge," but the show didn't make it past its first season. Since falling out of favor in Hollywood, she got a cosmetology license and came out as gay on TikTok.

This Former Teen Star Hasn't Acted in Over a Decade

The controversial conservatorship of Britney Spears gets most of the hype, but the former American teen star Amanda Bynes has also been struggling with her conservatorship. She made news in recent years due to her mental health issues, and she's long left Hollywood despite once being one of the world's most popular young actresses.

The star of "What a Girl Wants" and "She's the Man," Bynes hasn't been on camera since making it to Emma Stone's 2010 breakthrough comedy "Easy A." She was last seen in 2021 while taking a stroll down Los Angeles, not long after announcing her engagement with fiancé Paul Michael.

Mischa Barton's Career Was Never Quite the Same

Starring in the 2022 movie "Holiday Twist," Mischa Barton is still adding new acting credits to her impressive filmography. But this London native is far from her heyday. She started as a child actress and collected appearances in movies as beloved as "The Sixth Sense" and "Notting Hill." Later, she starred in "The O.C." as 'Marissa Cooper.'

Sadly, Barton's frantic lifestyle and problems on set precipitated her departure from the series, which was canceled in 2007. While she's remained active until today, it's fair to say she's no longer the promising up-and-coming Hollywood star many believed her to be.

Yet Another Harvey Weinstein Victim

The American actress Paz de la Huerta made it to two music videos in 2021, but it's fair to say starring in music videos is miles off from being featured in productions as important as Gaspar Noé's "Enter the Void" or Steve Buscemi's "Boardwalk Empire." As it turns out, de la Huerta is yet another female Hollywood star whose life was scarred by the ignominious actions of Harvey Weinstein.

After claiming to be abused by the now-sentenced former producer, de la Huerta struggled with depression and failed to meet her acting potential. In 2019, she was hospitalized after allegedly locking herself in a room.

Adrian Grenier Struggled Getting Past Vincent Chase

Even though he made it to the 2006 comedy classic "The Devil Wears Prada," American actor Adrian Grenier is best known for portraying 'Vincent Chase' in "Entourage." The show was very successful, running for nearly 100 episodes between 2004 and 2011. Unfortunately, though, Grenier found it hard to land new, meaningful roles following the series finale.

After a series of relatively forgettable movie appearances and a minor feud with "Entourage" producer Mark Wahlberg, Grenier is only recently getting back in shape. Featured in the 2022 TV movie "Cipher," he starred in Netflix's 2021 mini-series "Clickbait."

This Movie Star's "Retirement" Has Been Making Headlines Since 2019

In 2022, Mediamass.net teased Sally Field's show-business retirement. The outlet is but the newest to do so, as Field's said to be "almost retiring" since 2019. The fact is that this "Forrest Gump" legend is still active today, and she's even featured in the 2022 TV series "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty."

Field's future in show business has looked uncertain for a few years now, but her past is nothing short of amazing. With roughly 70 acting credits, this Pasadena, California native is the definition of a decade-spanning superstar and has made it to movies as beloved as "Steel Magnolias," "Smokey and the Bandit," and "Lincoln."

This UFC Legend Flopped as an Actress But Has Since Found Her Place

As one of the meanest and most talented women ever to fight in the UFC, it was logical for Ronda Rousey to try her luck as an action movie star. Sadly, though, her acting range never convinced the critics, and her parts in "Fast & Furious 7," "The Expendables 3," and "Mile 22" were quickly forgotten.

But while Rousey's acting dreams were never fulfilled, she did find her place in wrestling entertainment. Born to fight in front of an audience, Rousey is now one of the best-known female superstars in the WWE universe and made it to 2022 episodes of "WWE Monday Night Raw" and "WWF SmackDown!"

Randy Quaid's Bizarre Shenanigans

If you scratch the 2018 comedy "Weight," the former "Brokeback Mountain" star Randy Quaid hasn't acted since 2009. He made the news for the last time in 2021, after publishing a tweet in which he announced to be "seriously considering" running for Governor of California.

If you think that's weird, you're in for a treat! Quaid's Hollywood career was surely damaged by his many bizarre shenanigans, which included doing stuff as unusual as trying to drive to Siberia, vandalizing a guest house he used to own, and promoting a series of conspiracy theories.

This '90s Icon Was Away for Years. But Why?

Featured in 2022's "Martin Cast Reunion Special," the "Bad Boys" star Martin Lawrence was once one of the top-requested actors in Hollywood. But if Lawrence is that famous, why did he spend over four years away from show business following his appearance in the 2014 TV series "Partners?"

Sadly, Lawrence's personal and legal issues caused him to have a stress-related nervous breakdown. He spent years away from acting, only to make a comeback with the 2019 Harmony Korine comedy "The Beach Bum." In 2020, he starred in the blockbuster "Bad Boys for Life."

Aaron Eckhart's Two Years of Giving Up

The American actor Aaron Eckhart was brilliant in movies such as "The Core," "Thank You for Smoking," or the fan-favorite "The Dark Knight." But in 2016, he shocked his fans by announcing that he no longer thought about being a star and was ready to give up on Hollywood.

Eckhart stuck to his promise for two years before making an understated return with the 2018 TV series "The Romanoffs." Now ready to give it a more serious go, he's one of the actors featured in the 2022 TV series "The First Lady," starring Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer.

A Two-Year Break to Take the Tony Away

When great actors stop appearing on the screen, that doesn't always mean they've stopped acting. Consider Carey Mulligan, for instance. She didn't make a film appearance for two years after starring in "Suffragette," but she worked extensively as a stage actress and even landed a Tony Award in the meantime!

It looks like Mulligan's hiatus wasn't a hiatus at all, and the brilliant London-born actress continues to be one of the busiest ladies in the game. Her 2022 agenda includes features in the dramas "Fingernails" and "She Said" and the sci-fi movie "Spaceman."

From "All That" to "Blessed Mode"

Remember Kel Mitchell, the American actor who starred in "All That," Kenan & Kel," and "Good Burger?" Believe it or not, he decided to become a licensed pastor in 2019! Struggling with mental health issues related to the stress of acting and being famous, Mitchell embraced his spiritual side to find the happiness he so desperately longed for.

Mitchell's new role isn't a fad either. He's been very dedicated to his faith since obtaining his license and released a self-help devotional book titled "Blessed Mode," as reported by Blackfilm.com in 2022.

Why Isn't Kelly McGillis on "Top Gun: Maverick"

The 2022 movie "Top Gun: Maverick" is a treat to every fan of the original "Top Gun" movie, but one former "Top Gun" star didn't even consider making an appearance. Known for portraying 'Charlie,' the American actress Kelly McGillis has long decided to let go of Hollywood to focus on being a better person.

Her time in show business was hard for her, and she told Closer Weekly that she decided to let go of it all to focus on being "the best sober parent" she could be. McGillis has two children, who are all grown-up now: Sonora and Kelsey Tillman.

Alex Pettyfer's "Magic Mike" Issue

In 2011, the English actor Alex Pettyfer worked in blockbusters such as Justin Timberlake's "In Time" and D.J. Caruso's "I Am Number Four." The Hertfordshire native was then cast to appear in the hit 2012 production "Magic Mike," but he reportedly failed to get along with his co-stars.

While Pettyfer credited his bad relationship with the likes of Channing Tatum to his lack of confidence, he felt the cast thought he was just being arrogant. The fact is that Pettyfer's acting career slowed down a bit after "Magic Mike," even though he has since been cast to the 2022 thriller "The Infernal Machine."

The Most Unbelievable Hollywood Fallout Story?

With appearances in "Smallville," "Dirty Little Secret," "Ant Bully," or "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves!," Allison Mack had it all. A German-born Californian beauty, she ended up throwing her acting career away when she joined a cult known as NXIVM.

Combining typical cult tactics with a multi-level marketing scheme, NXIVM was a shady organization that got many of its members in trouble. Mack was no exception, and she was arrested in 2018. Later, in 2021, she was sentenced to three years in jail for racketeering conspiracy charges. "Lost in Oz," from 2016, will most likely be her final acting appearance.

Mike Myers and... The Worst Comedy Ever?

In 2022, Mike Myers' classic comedy "Wayne's World" celebrates its 30th anniversary. This Ontario, Canada native was once a huge star, featured as the main actor in the unforgettable "Austin Powers" and "Shrek" film series. However, he's hardly worked in the industry since 2008. So, what happened?

Myers' drop in popularity is surely related to his 2008 comedy "The Love Guru," which makes for a poorly-rated movie with a disastrous 3.8 IMDb rating. Criticized for not being particularly funny, "The Love Guru" also received backlash for its offensive portrayal of Indian/Hindu culture and misogynistic content.

Meg Ryan Wanted to Grow Outside of Hollywood

Praised by Jennifer Lopez in a 2022 interview shared by The Economic Times, Meg Ryan was once one of Hollywood's greatest female stars. The rom-com queen starred in classics as beloved as "When Harry Met Sally...," "You've Got Mail," and "Sleepless in Seattle." But then, she stopped doing movies altogether.

In a tell-it-all conversation with The New York Times, Ryan admitted she felt "burned out" as an actress and mentioned that she needed "space to grow outside of Hollywood." Famous from a very young age, this Connecticut native decided it was time to put her happiness first and kiss goodbye to show business.

Andie MacDowell's No Longer Choosing Roles

Featured in the 2022 movie "Along for the Ride," the American actress/model Andie MacDowell is still active, but she's no longer choosing her roles. She once said, "I wish I was," but she's fallen out of favor in Hollywood and is now simply awaiting whatever offer she gets.

Popularized by classics such as "Groundhog Day" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," MacDowell is less busy, but happy still. She may not be the Hollywood 'it' girl she once was, but she enjoys working on her ranch in Montana and has managed to spend more time with her daughters.

This '90s Superstar Was Left Out of the New "Twin Peaks"

When the David Lynch classic "Twin Peaks" returned to the screen in 2017, many fans were surprised not to see Lara Flynn Boyle. A bonafide small-screen superstar in the '90s, she was made famous for her appearances in the original "Twin Peaks" series, "The Practice," and movies such as "Men in Black II" and "Happiness."

Now married to a real estate agent, Boyle was seen for the last time in the forgettable 2020 action flick "Death in Texas." Her other most-recent projects go to show how she's fallen out of favor, and include a teen comedy titled "Cougar Hunting" and "Lucky Dog," in which she played a minor role.

Hurt By Her On-Set Behavior

Whether you're an aspiring actress or a Hollywood A-lister, behaving nicely on the studio set is fundamental for staying on the top. The former "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl was reportedly acting like a 'diva' and getting late to work, and her behavior may have cost her her career. She ended up being criticized by the legendary "Grey's Anatomy" producer Shonda Rhimes and went from 'movie star' to 'where you are' in just a couple of years.

Featured in blockbusters such as "Knocked Up" and "The Ugly Truth" at her prime, Heigl is now busy working in the 2022 Netflix series "Firefly Lane."

This Sheen Boy Doesn't Mind Staying Away from the Spotlight

When he starred in the 1985 classic "The Breakfast Club," Emilio Estevez was meant to become the biggest star of the Hollywood Sheen clan. However, most people only recognize him as the brother of Charlie Sheen, and Estevez doesn't seem to be too worried about it.

One of the stars of the 2022 season of "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers," he prefers to work behind the scenes and support his two children. Praised for his 2010 directorial effort "The Way," Estevez is the father of Taylor Levi Estevez, a busy Hollywood stuntman, and Paloma Rae Estevez, known for her work as a drummer.

Initially Left Out of the "Saved by the Bell" Reboot

When the classic sitcom "Saved by the Bell" made a return in 2020, many fans were surprised to learn 'Lisa Turtle' was left out. The actress behind the iconic character, Lark Voorhies, admitted she felt hurt and disappointed by it, while also acknowledging her mental health issues made it hard for her to work in Hollywood at the highest level.

Voorhies's remarks ended up having an impact, though, as she was eventually cast to appear in three episodes of the reboot series. She returned to the screen as 'Lisa Turtle' in 2020 and 2021 despite being away from acting since 2012.

This Oscar Winner Lost the War Against the Big Studios

The American actress/comedian Mo'Nique is featured in the 2022 horror flick "The Reading," her first Hollywood project since 2016. Considering she once won an Academy Award for her brilliant performance in "Precious," we have to ask: what happened to Mo'Nique's once-promising Hollywood career?

According to The Washington Post, Mo'Nique's Oscar win got her demanding more money than the studios wanted to pay her. She stood by her truth following her 2009 "Precious" appearance, but she ended up losing the bidding... Following her Oscar success, she only returned to the screen in 2014 to star in the poorly-rated drama "Blackbird."

Backpain and Poker Make For a Deadly Combination

Tobey Maguire seems to be on comeback form, as he reprised his classic 'Spider-Man' role in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and is one of the stars of the 2022 TV series "Extrapolations." But this once-promising A-lister spent years in the shadows following his third "Spider-Man" movie. Why?

Well, it seems like Maguire got carried away while working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was asking too much money from the studio. Additionally, he struggled with severe back pain and was reportedly addicted to gambling, especially poker. According to New York Post, Maguire was one of the real-life high-stakes underground poker players portrayed in the 2017 movie "Molly's Game!"

Not Quite Halle Berry...

Last seen in a 2022 episode of "GMA3: What You Need to Know," the American actress Karyn Parsons never managed to build a stable acting career on top of her breakthrough appearance in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." And according to an interview with Vice, Halle Berry's unmatchable popularity in the late '90s and early '2000s is to blame...

Frustrated for losing every Hollywood role she tried to get to Berry, Parsons invested in creating the 1996 series "Lush Life." She starred and produced in the show, which was a passion project, but the series was met with dismal reviews and canceled after just seven episodes.
