We read toddler parenting books, provide social interaction, research various topics, and at last, ask a ton of questions just so we can administer our child's growth. But this constant check and worry often leads to some confusion when it comes to the child's first milestones.

What do you say, parents? Don't you find yourself in a puddle when your kids ask if they can go for a sleepover, or if they can get their ear pierced, or ride a bike with their friends?

#1 - Answering a call
If you think your child is too young to answer a phone call or conduct a sustained conversation, you're living under a rock! At the tender age of 5 or 6 years, kids need to learn basic phone etiquettes and feel comfortable initiating or talking to grown-ups.
If your child feels nervous around strangers (absolutely normal) make it a point that you make her comfortable, and start rehearsing a greeting with her. This practice will help the little one become more confident and fluent in greeting.
#2 - Perform daily chores
Don’t get swayed by that title, we’re not talking about making her do house-chores. What we mean is, give credit to the fact that your little munchkin loves to help you. By the time a child turns 2, she's all set to feed the cats, pull up the pillow covers, and scrub some dishes.
But as a matter of fact, it's only possible if you as a parent are ready to encourage your child in adopting such habits. If you make it all fun and games, let your child join you in the daily activities, soon she'll realize that performing daily chores is a family activity.

#3 - Ride a bike
If your child falls in the age group of 4-9 years and portrays the emotions balance, excitement, and confidence, it might be the right time to let go of those training wheels. Discovering the art of balancing on its own is a big sign that your child is growing up faster.
In this scenario, the right choice will be to remove the training wheels and let her ride on her own. Of Course, you’ll need to keep a check on her, have her a push-off, and provide her support for few seconds, but then, make it a point to finally let her peddle on her own.
#4 - Ear piercing
Honestly, it's a highly personal or a cultural decision if you ask us. If you want your child to get her ears pierced, it's always a good idea to consult a pediatrician. Once you've received a green signal from the doctor, get it done!
Don't wait for too long as younger kids tend to get fussy with piercings. But, if there's no cultural pressure, wait for the right time or go along with your child's preferences.
Final thoughts
It's not an easy bet to figure out what's the right/ideal age for your child's first-ever milestone. But, for sure, there's an ideal age for your child to do it. And that's when they themselves are ready for it!
